Butt-Weld Elbow (45° / 90°) — Overview
Butt-weld elbows change the direction of a pipeline while keeping full bore, so the flow stays smooth and the line can be pigged.
90° elbows turn the line; 45° elbows take a gentler change of direction and reduce pressure drop on long runs. Long-radius (LR) elbows are the standard choice; short-radius (SR) elbows save space where there is no room for a long turn.
Ends are bevelled for butt welding and each piece is marked with its size, wall, material and heat number.
